TASTE FLORENCE AS A LOCAL: Markets, street food and deli shops

This 3,5 hours walking tour is a delicious way to explore the city and learn to eat like a local. You will meet your private guide at Sant'Ambrogio, Florentine's favourite market. There you will be welcomed from a sample of "Schiacciata" (pizza bread typical in Tuscany) and surrounded by fresh food, fruits, vegetables or different kind of goods. After visiting the Market visit we will keep going in direction of the second food stop: a small deli where you can enjoy a popular street food in Florence"Coccoli" (tasty fried pasta filled with cheese and ham!). Then will be the right time to visit "Signoria Square" and "Palazzo Vecchio" which the guide will be happy to explain you why are considered the main points of the florentine republic history. At this point we wil bring you to try the most requested finger food plate in Florence: "The Tagliere" (a selection of ham and cheese) that you will enjoy together with a nice glass of Chianti! Just after passing by the charming Dome we will reach "San Lorenzo" market where you will have the chance to taste truffles, cantucci (crunchy almond biscuits) and Vin Santo (juicy sweet wine). San Lorenzo , better known as the central market, is the most famous food market in Florence, has 2 split level floors and is plenty of butchers, fishmongers, fruits or vegetables stalls. Our last stop will be a must during the italian summer: Il Gelato!...Gelato was invented in Florence during the renaissance period when Bernardo Buontalenti created the dessert for the Grand Duke Cosimo De Medici.(At the ice crem shop that we have chosen for you the "Buontalenti" flavour will be available!) We are confident that at the end of this tour you will be more conscious regarding the authentic tuscan food and you will gain a better knowledge about the history of Florence.
