Day 1: Arrival in Rome
Arrive at one of the Airports of Rome, both located about 40 minutes from the city centre. We will be there to welcome you. Check in at a 3 star Hotel in the very centre of Rome. After leaving your luggage in your room, enjoy the movie “Welcome to Rome”, a 3d cinema, perfect introduction to the Eternal City. Beautiful Squares, elegant Palaces and stunning Churches will welcome you in this ancient city.
Day 2: Ancient Rome Guided Tour
Visit the Colosseum with a licensed Tour Guide. One of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, the Colosseum is the most spectacular monument of the city, symbol of the great Roman Empire. It is the most visited site in Italy. You will skip the line with our prebooked Tickets so you don’t need to spend many hours in a long line. Discover The Palatine Hill, where Rome was founded in 753 BC by legendary Romulus. The Guided visit continues in the Roman Forum, the Heart of the Political and Social Life of Ancient Rome. Thousands of people everyday come here the stories about the greatness of the Roman Celebrities: Augustus, Nero, Marc Anthony and of course Julius Caesar. You will have some free time in the afternoon with opportunity to visit the nearby Capitoline Hill and to get lost in the narrow streets of the Eternal City.
Day 3: Pantheon, Piazza Navona and an Italian Aperitivo
Free day. Meet our Guide at 6 pm to have an Italian Aperitivo with a Cold Cuts Board and a Glass of Wine in our favourite Place in the narrow streets of the Eternal City. Guided Tour of the Pantheon and of Piazza Navona. The first was the Temple of all Gods, classical Masterpiece for his Perfection and Harmony; the second was the Stadium of Domitian and today a very beautiful Square.
Day 4: Extra Activity Segway Tour of Rome
Today you can book and extra Activity, which is very funny and give you the possibility to explore more about Ancient Rome. Our Tour begins in the afternoon. Explore Rome’s monuments and sites effortlessly on an innovative and funny mode of transport, a Segway**. Begin with a 15 minute orientation session with an expert and you are ready to go! Our Local Guide will share interesting stories when passing next to the Theatre of Marcellus built by the Emperor Augustus to honor his nephew; Glide around the Circus Maximus, the largest Stadium for public games ever built. The Circus is located in the Valley between two of the Rome’s Hills: the Palatine and the Aventine. The Capitoline Hill is a must-see with the imposing statue of emperor Marco Aurelio in the beautiful square designed by Michelangelo. Have a look at the Mouth of the Truth, an ancient marble mask that attracts visitors from all over the world because of the legend hidden behind it.
Day 5: Guided tour of Pompeii and Wine Tasting
After breakfast, leave the City of Rome and reach Pompeii on the shores of the Gulf of Naples. Pompeii was buried by the Eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. A thick layer of volcanic ashes and lapilli preserved most of the buildings. Today we can see this magic Roman city as it was 2000 years ago. A Local Licensed Guide will invite you to enter in a Thermopolium to discover what Romans used to eat. Visit the wonderful Forum from which you have an impressive view of the Vesuvius. On the way back to Rome, stop at “Masseria Felicia” a family run farm winery on the slopes of the Mount Massico for a Wine Tasting of the Falerno del Massico, the Romans favourite Wine. Go back to your Hotel in Rome.
Day 6: Guided Tour of Ostia Antica
Not far from Rome, there is Ostia Antica, the Ancient Port of the Empire. The archeological Area is reachable with a 30 minutes ride with the train. Many of the buildings of Ostia are still intact today. Visit this harbor with a Local Tour Guide, the itinerary includes the Theatre, Apartments, Thermal Baths, the famous Piazzale delle Corporazioni with beautiful Floor Mosaics, the communal Latrines, the Laundries, a Roman Bakery, an Ancient Fireman Brigade and much more. Go back to your Hotel in Rome.
Day 7: Free day in Rome for Shopping and self-organized Excursions
Use this free day in Rome to explore places you don’t want to miss. Use your Travel Organizer skills and set off! Otherwise you can visit the best Shopping Streets and shop for prestigious Fashion Brands or for Souvenirs. But don’t forget, we will be happy to help you with any information you need.
Day 8: Transfer back to the Airport of Rome
End of the Tour. Enjoy your Flight back home!
