This 3,5 hours walking tour is a splendid way to explore the Highlights of Florence city centre and taste some local food. Meet our private guide at Sant’Ambrogio, Florentine’s favourite market. Let’s start with a “Schiacciata” (typical pizza bread from Tuscany).
After visiting the Market which is full of fresh fruit, vegetables and delicacies, we will go to a small deli where we can enjoy a popular street food in Florence “Coccoli” (tasty fried pasta filled with cheese and ham!). Here we have an olive oil tasting to understand how to recognize a real Extra virgin olive oil.
Then will be the right time to visit Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, an open museum, probably the most beautiful square of Florence. At this point we will try a typical “Tagliere” (a selection of ham and cheese) matched with two glasses of wine: Chianti, probably the most famous wine from Italy and another great wine from Tuscany.
Passing by the charming Dome we will reach San Lorenzo central market where you will have the chance to taste cantucci (crunchy almond biscuits) and Vin Santo (juicy sweet wine). Here you will be surrounded by butchers, fishermen, fruits or vegetables stalls and a lot more.
Our last stop will be a must during the italian summer: Il Gelato!…Gelato was invented in Florence during the renaissance period when Bernardo Buontalenti created a dessert for the Medici family.(At the ice crem shop that we have chosen for you the “Buontalenti” flavour will be available!).
This Tour is the best experience to discover Florence, local Food and Florentine people.
