Rome - Food, Wine & Hidden Secrets

The Tour will start at Piazza Venezia, the geographical centre of Rome. There are plenty of curiosities to learn about the Victor Emanuel’s Monument, the Talking Statues, the Pine Cone Fountain and Mussolini’s balcony. On the way to the Pantheon, the first stop will be in a small Wine Bar where a typical Italian Aperitivo with cold cuts and Italian Spumante will be waiting for us. Behind the corner is Piazza della Minerva with the Elephant-Obelisk of Bernini, in front of Santa Maria della Minerva’s church. This place offers interesting anedoctes and amusing stories that most of the tourists passing by cannot even imagine. Rome is like an open museum full of history and hidden statues, if you know where to find them. Not far is the magnificent Pantheon, an Ancient Temple built to honour all the Gods. Today it is a christian church, Chiesa di Santa Maria ad Martyres. We will take a stroll in beautiful Navona square passing through narrow streets near Palazzo Madama, the Senate Office Building. Piazza Navona is a lovely square that hides many folktales, you will find out more about the most famous baroque artists Bernini and Borromini. Now it’s time to have some Pasta and you cannot miss the most typical Roman dishes, delicious Pasta Carbonara, Gricia or Cacio e Pepe with a glass of our favourite white Wine. We will say hi to the talking statue of Pasquino and head to Largo Argentina, one of the most important squares in the city. There are four Roman Republican Temples and the ruins of Pompey’s Theatre. Maybe some of you know this place and what happened here. If you don’t, then you will be surprised! Our last stop will be at the Ghetto, the Jewish district. Tasty and fragrant cheese with a glass of Red Wine will make you fall in love with Italian culinary traditions. The History of the Ghetto, the Portico of Ottavia, the Theatre of Marcellus and Piazza Mattei with the fountain of the Turtles will be the best framework. The perfect ending will be a creamy italian gelato that will make you want to come back again and again. This and much more is waiting for you everyday from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Book if you want to discover the real Rome.
