We meet again in the evening in a trendy district called Monti, once it was the Suburra, the popular district of Rome where also Julius Cesar grew up. We booked a table at Le Tavernelle (or similar), a typical Roman trattoria to try some Roman recipes. The menu includes antipasti misti, a typical Roman pasta course such as pasta carbonara, gricia or cacio e Pepe, dessert, water and wine.

Free time for lunch and free time in the afternoon with opportunity to get lost in the narrow streets of the Eternal City.

Let’s meet for Dinner at Romolo e Remo (or similar) at San Giovanni district, just outside the ancient walls.  This trattoria is out of the tourist streams and is a meeting point for local people. Try some antipasti, and a really Roman main course such as Abbacchio, Coda alla Vaccinara, Saltimbocca alla Romana served with seasonal vegetables, water and wine.

Leave the City of Rome and reach Pompeii on the shores of the Gulf of Naples. Take the train from Roma Termini to Naples train station, where a private transfer with taxi is waiting for you to bring you to Pompeii. 

Pompeii was buried by the Eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. A thick layer of volcanic ashes and lapilli preserved most of the buildings. Today we can see this magic Roman city as it was 2000 years ago. A Local Licensed Guide will invite you to enter in a Thermopolium to discover what Romans used to eat. Visit the wonderful Forum from which you have an impressive view of the Vesuvius. After the visit of Pompeii you will have Lunch at the slopes of the Mount Vesuvius. Here you will be tasting typical local products such as the small tomatoes produced on the Vesuvius, bruschetta, cold cuts, wine and at the end Limoncello. Return back to Rome by taxi and train.
